Real-Time Ultrasound Retraining
What is Real-Time Ultrasound Retraining?
An ultrasound (US) scanner allows your muscles to be seen on a TV monitor. You can watch specific muscles contract and relax as you retrain them.
To perform Real-Time Ultrasound Retraining, your physiotherapist requires special training to assess, educate and help you to perform the correct muscle contractions
Does Real-Time Ultrasound Retraining Differ From Therapeutic Ultrasound?
Yes. Therapeutic ultrasound has been commonly used by physiotherapists since the 1940's. Rather than diagnosing the problem by allowing you to see deep structures, a therapeutic ultrasound is used to stimulate healing via a powerful sound wave that penetrates into your soft tissue.
